Buiten broedtijd
Papegaaiduikers zijn van begin oktober tot in maart schaarse passanten langs de Noordzeekust. De meeste worden gezien eind oktober en begin november, maar het gaat om hooguit een tiental per dag. Waarnemingen in het binnenland zijn extreem zeldzaam.
